The Smart Radon Sensor integrates with building automation systems to monitor measure radon levels. It is very highly sensitive and housed in a smart-looking enclosure. The sensor is typically placed in the lowest liveable area of a building, where radon levels are likely to be highest. The standard model also monitors temperature and humidity. Carbon dioxide and barometric monitoring are available as an optional extra. The advanced detector technology ensures the instrument will not be affected by any variations of temperature and humidity, external radiation, mechanical shocks and vibrations. The RS-485 fieldbus interface can be used either with the MODBUS RTU (industrial standard) or the proprietary SARAD protocols. The analogue output makes it easy to connect the Smart Radon Sensor to existing PLCs.
SARAD
SARAD was founded in 1993. The company started as service provider assessing radioactive polluted properties with regard to their later decontamination. After a short time, the company started to develop electronic measuring instruments. In 1994, SARAD launched their first radon monitor. Since 1997, the development and manufacturing of premium measuring equipment have become the pillars the company is built on. Due to its positive business performance, the company was able to move into its own corporate building in 2000. Step by step the range of products has been extended over the following years.
