The Radon Scout Expert is a sophisticated device designed to monitor radon levels. It operates using a combination of sensors and detection methods to measure radon concentration in the air.

  1. Air Sampling: The device continuously samples the air from its surroundings. This is typically done using a small fan or a passive diffusion method that allows radon gas to enter the detection chamber.

  2. Detection Chamber: Inside the device, the sampled air is directed into a detection chamber. This chamber is designed to capture and concentrate radon gas.

  3. Alpha Particle Detection: Radon is a radioactive gas that decays into polonium, which emits alpha particles. The detection chamber contains a sensor that is sensitive to alpha particles. When radon decays and emits alpha particles, the sensor detects these particles and converts the signal into an electrical pulse.

  4. Measurement and Calculation: The device's internal electronics count the number of alpha particles detected over a specific period. Using this data, the device calculates the radon concentration in the air, usually expressed in becquerels per cubic meter (Bq/m³) or picocuries per liter (pCi/L).

  5. Additional Sensors: The Radon Scout Expert is equipped with additional sensors to measure temperature and humidity. These sensors provide valuable information about the indoor climate, which can influence radon levels.

  6. Data Logging and Display: The device logs the measurement data over time, providing a detailed record of radon concentration levels.

  7. Alerts and Alarms: If the radon concentration exceeds a predefined threshold, the device can trigger an alert or alarm to notify the user, ensuring prompt action can be taken to mitigate radon exposure.

By continuously monitoring radon levels and environmental conditions, the Radon Scout Expert helps ensure a safe and healthy indoor environment.

SARAD

SARAD was founded in 1993. The company started as service provider assessing radioactive polluted properties with regard to their later decontamination. After a short time, the company started to develop electronic measuring instruments. In 1994, SARAD launched their first radon monitor. Since 1997, the development and manufacturing of premium measuring equipment have become the pillars the company is built on. Due to its positive business performance, the company was able to move into its own corporate building in 2000. Step by step the range of products has been extended over the following years.
