Staying Safe with Wavecontrol’s Personal EMF Monitoring
Wavecontrol has two different types of electromagnetic field (EMF) monitoring devices for personal use – portable, and wearable.
The portable or handheld EMF monitor is called SMP3, and the wearable type is WaveMon. Both are designed to record EMF measurements aligned with the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency’s (ARPANSA) guidelines, and international standards, such as the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP).
SMP3 can detect the three categories of EMF fields, which are:
-
High Frequency EMF Fields
-
Low Frequency EMF Fields
-
Static EMF Fields
It combines three functionalities in one instrument: static field measurement, spectrum analysis and broadband field meter. It also has a digital output, and is suitable for 5G measurements.
The most common industries where workers benefit from the SMP3 include telecommunications, energy, railway, medical, laboratory research, automotive, aeronautical, and more.

Wavecontrol’s wearable EMF monitor, WaveMon, on the other hand, comes in three models with each type able to detect one of the three EMF categories mentioned above.
WaveMon offers continuous EMF level monitoring and has an alarm feature that goes off when the levels are higher than acceptable limits. It also has a built-in data logger functionality that can be used for review purposes.
Other features of WaveMon include integrated GPS, and altimeter, which are suitable for employees working at communication towers.
